- Scope of Operation and Jurisdiction
- a) The scope of work and activities of the Organization extends throughout India.
b) All legal matters, disputes, or court cases arising out of or in connection with the Organization shall be subject to Delhi jurisdiction only. - Nature of the Organization
The भारतीय राष्ट्रीय मजदूर कांग्रेस (महासंघ) [Indian National Trades Union Congress (Federation)] is a democratic trade union federation committed to safeguarding the interests, rights, dignity, and welfare of the working class across India, including workers from both the organized and unorganized sectors.
- Aims and Objects
- Core Beliefs
The Organization believes that the exploitation of the working class can be ended only by:
- Socializing the means of production, distribution, and exchange;
- Establishing and strengthening a Democratic State;
- Upholding democratic values and freedoms;
- Achieving complete emancipation of society from all forms of exploitation.
- The Organization Stands For:
- a) Protection and expansion of the economic and social rights of workers, including the right to strikeand freedom of democratic and trade union movements.
b) Recognition of trade unions through secret ballot elections.
c) Progressive improvement of wages, reduction of working hours, provision of decent housing, and improvement of living and working conditions.
d) Security of full employment, the right to work, and protection against unemployment.
e) Comprehensive social security for workers and their families, including protection against sickness, accident, old age, maternity benefits, pensions, and effective worker control over Provident Fund and ESI institutions.
f) Equal wages for equal work.
g) Abolition of discrimination based on caste, gender, religion, or any other basisin employment, wages, and promotions.
h) Protection of democratic rights of workers from the unorganized sector.
i) Formation of democratically elected committees at workplaces to regulate and improve working conditions.
j) Proper vocational training for workers and their children.
k) Elimination of illiteracy among workers and their children.
l) Assisting workers in forming trade unions where none exist and promoting unity by merging rival unions within the same industry. - Immediate Objectives of the Working-Class Struggle
- a) Nationalization of foreign monopoly enterprises that exploit Indian workers.
b) Nationalization of Indian monopoly and large industrial enterprises that earn excessive profits at the cost of workers and influence anti-labour government policies.
c) Opposition to repressive government policies against democratic and trade union movements and economic policies that safeguard monopoly interests over people’s welfare. - For the Purposes Stated Above, the Organization:
- a) Supports democratic demands of the working class in both organized and unorganized sectors.
b) Raises its voice against excessive dependence on foreign monopoly capital and rising foreign debt that undermine national independence and exploit workers.
c) Promotes solidarity with peasants and agricultural workers in struggles for land reforms, fair wages, abolition of feudal land relations, and elimination of landlord monopolies.
d) Promotes international solidarity and unitywith workers of other countries in the common struggle for democracy and social justice. - Membership and Participation
Participation in activities, programs, or membership of the Organization shall be governed by its constitution, rules, and resolutions adopted from time to time.
